I went to the NH Dealership this weekend thinking I would buy a toolbox for our new TC-40. I really just wanted to buy the regular rectangular box that can be setup on the back of the tractor. When they rang up the price, it came to $54.95! All that for a black plastic toolbox with a NH logo molded into the box lid. I told the dealer thanks but no thanks. As he walked back to the stock room he said under his breath, "I got mine at Wal-Mart." I went to Wal-Mart and sure enough, there was a toolbox, red but nearly the same size for $3.00!

Enough with my preamble. Has anyone bought one of the Deluxe toolboxes and installed them on a regular Class III Boomer? I was wondering if this toolbox that has the cupholder is worth it. If not, I'll shell out the $3.00 and get the Wal-Mart version.

Thanks.

I had the same problem with a box for my TC29...I couldn't quite justify the factory box, but you've got to have something. I made my own bracket and bolted it on the ROPS in the same place as the factory box, then bought an open top carrier for $5 that fit the bracket. I guess if you had to have a cup holder, you could always velcro one on somewhere.

Another suggestion from the wild side.
Seems to me that the Kobalt colours at Lowes are similar to the NH. Would a Kolbalt metal box mount on the tractor? Might look sharp. ....

I think surplus ammunition boxes work pretty well, but they come in a limited number of colours. Somebody thought grenade boxes are about the right size. Despite the banter, there are some good ideas in this thread. Velcro implements might be good. ....

TC33:

My tractor did fit fine in the garage with inches to spare all around. I have some hill I mow sow I had them widen the rear tires to give some more stability. As a result, the width of the garage became suddenly important! Regardless, we have had no trouble getting it into the garage. So far it is a great tractor and I look forward to many years of use from it. I'll post a picture of the setup in a couple of days. Thanks for the other information on the toolbox.
